The Pattern Process Broken Down
Creating bespoke patterns is just as much an art form as it is a skill. As a highly experienced pattern maker and pattern grader, my unique signature always shines through the final result.
- Consultation. We’ll discuss the vision for your brand together with designs concepts and review the most cost-effective methods of bringing your ideas to life. I’ve worked with fashion labels and designers from all backgrounds, so you can rest assured that I can help you achieve your end goal.
- Pattern making. This step of the process is truly the foundation upon which the end result lie. A pattern forms the most essential component of the development process and is integral to the final garment or product. As an experienced pattern maker I create premium patterns that bring individuality to a garment, improving the overall fit and appearance. Trust me when I say that the final pattern will ‘make or break’ your end product.
- Sample making. Once the first pattern is complete a sample will be required. A personal sample service is available for your convenience. Alternatively I’m more than happy to share connections if you wish to purchase the Industry Directory file, or you are welcome to source your own machinist. The first sample is used to test proportions and balance whilst identifying any fit and fabric behaviour issues that will then be adjusted on the pattern accordingly.
