When do you need a soft collar?

With extensive experience in the fashion industry, and a troubled Hahns Macaw with chronic feather destructive behaviour, there was a need to develop a comfortable solution. After many samples and extensive testing, the ultimate avian soft collar was born.
A collar must be used in conjunction with an avian vet to determine if there is a medical, behavioural or nutritional cause for the feather destruction. Without addressing underlying causes, a collar will be no more than a ‘bandaid’ solution and may cause additional problems.
WARNING:
NOT ALL BIRDS WILL TOLERATE FEATHER PROTECTION AND CAN CAUSE FURTHER TRAUMA.
It is vital all avian products are introduced under strict observation. If your feathered friend shows distress, remove immediately.

Instructions
COLLAR ME COZY/COOL
- Open the hook and look on the underside of the collar.
- Slip the hole over the head.
- Secure the hook and loop fastening on the underside, please note the top side is the does not have circular
stitching. - Make sure your can get your pinky in between the collar and the patients neck. If you feel it is too tight, the fastening can
be adjusted or alternatively the neck can be trimmed. - If your bird is tripping over the collar, this can also be trimmed.
SKIVVY ME SNUG
- Simply pull over the head.
- Slip ‘Collar Me Cozy/Cool’ over the top.
TURTLE ME TIGHT
- Open hook and loop.
- Wrap around neck and fasten hook and loop for comfort. Seam goes against patients neck.
- IMPORTANT: Leave the hook and loop exposed. Do not pull fastening protection over the hook and loop until you
are sure the patient will tolerate the turtle. - If you are confident the patient is comfortable in the turtle, pull the finer fabric over the hook and loop to
protect the fastening from busy beaks. This step is optional and MUST ONLY be done if you are confident the turtle can be removed without delay if necessary.
WALK ME WELL
- Attach hook and loop fastening around the leg, hook and loop on outside, neoprene against the leg for comfort.
- For chickens only; ensure back toe is through the hole in the shoe.
- Fasten hook and loop over the foot.
